Great location for many attractions, theatre just across the road (the reason for our stay). Plenty of places for eating out or takeaways. Public transport on doorstep. The room was clean, well equipped, excellent shower, very good breakfast with great selection and freely available tea and coffee

The room was a good size. Comfortable. I liked the breakfast. Plenty of choice and good quality. The bread is nice.decent quality. Staff were helpful .polite and welcoming. Very good customer service from all staff

One very small thing. I would like more than 2 teabags in the room. But quite sure if I asked I would be given a further supply.

Bed was soft and very uncomfortable. After 3 nights I had a really sore back. Ended up sleeping in the small couch in the room on last night. Breakfast room had an entrance and exit to conform with Covid guidelines, no signage meant that folk were all coming in / gathering at the exit and then turning back when realised it was wrong door. Just put a simple entrance and no entry sign up. The buffet was all squeezed into the one corner, meaning lots of people in the one space at the one time, the various bits and pieces could have been spread round the room. Silly set up meant folk getting hot food and then having to go back on themselves to get cutlery / condiments etc. Really needs looked at as it could be sorted out easily with some common sense and take away the anxiety of breakfast time. We didn’t go for breakfast on last morning as it was such a stressful experience the previous mornings. First morning we went at a busy / peak time, but second morning we went at the advertise quiet time and was still stressful.

The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast was lovely.The location was central and perfect for what we needed.

the location is great, though I wish they would sweep the steps more! inside the hotel is first class and if you get a room on the 6th floor there is also a great view. Coupled with how central it is, there is nothing to dislike

Only negative thing was the bad smell in the room (smelled of cigarette) but maybe that was only in our room Parking is quite expensive in central Edinburgh but that must be an issue for all hotels in the area

The wall to our room was a bit thin. I could hear the neighbours very clearly and very loudly.
